Installation: (Socket 939 Cont'd)
In my particular situation, the Zalman fit onto the Asus A8N-SLI Premium with a ton of room all the way around.
The Asus has loads of clearance around the CPU socket and the Zalman, although appearing HUGE, is only huge on the top. The way it tapers is the key. Kudos to Asus and Zalman for superb designs. Let's take a closer look..
Well as you can see the test fitting went rather well. It's time to remove the heatsink once more for some nudie shots (Optional step for you at home..hehe).
Then apply your choice of Thermal paste to the CPU and replace the HSF. The Zalman comes with a tiny tube of "thermal grease" but I sprang for some Artic Silver 5 when I ordered this.
No self-respecting enthusiast uses the "included" Thermal goop, though being from Zalman I bet it's pretty decent.
