Installation:
The installation
is so damn simple, a caveman can do it {;-Þ No tools are needed because VIZO
supplies one for you. Start by removing the 2 screws in the end cap. Then plug
the end cap on to a 2.5" HDD, (max HDD capacity is 120gb) slide the HDD into the
enclosure and then button it up with the screws. See, I told you a caveman could do
it.
On this end cap
you will notice a 5v power connection and the USB connection. Although no power
supply is needed or included. The option is there.
Also with the supplied USB
cable, its split with 2 USB connections or Y at one end. The main connector will
supply the power and data to the Shuttle. The split off USB connection must just
supply power because when this one is used the drive icon does not appear in
windows.

SiSoftware Sandra 2005 was used for the quickie benchmark.
I ran the test 3 times and the average was
collected.
*Toshiba 2.5" 5400rpm
HDD with 8mb Cache 100MB/sec was used in the Shuttle for testing.

Conclusion:
Once again this is another quality
product from VIZO. Simple and straight to
the point with super easy installation procedures to the plug and play with the
USB cable. No need for drivers in WinXP (Win98 drivers on the VIZO site).
If you
are in the market for portable HDD enclosure, and don't want the larger 3.5"
units and thumbdrives with not enough capacity, then the
VIZO Shuttle 2.5" HDD external
enclosure is the unit for you.
