Introduction

Hey all, I'm back with another review of some items from an interesting company. I'll be talking about the microbus and fan duct from Tweakbox, a company that strives to provide premium mod-related products to the Canadian market! Here's a little info about the company:

Tweakbox is a fairly new Canadian company that, last year, became the official distributer of PCMods products in Canada! That means us Canadians now have access to PCMods's line of products through the nice folks at Tweakbox, without the cost of international shipping, or having to worry about the low Canadian dollar ;) They also carry other Products which appeal to the overclocker and modder in all of you.

Jeff over at Tweakbox was quite nice to contact me about his company back when they started up, and I'm glad to bring you a review of their products.
With that, let's first take a look at the fan duct. The duct is meant to be used in a situation like a front-bezel mod, where there is space between the fan and the outside of the bezel. This fan duct will make the final work look cool, and make help direct the air into the fan.

The Fan Duct.

Internal Diameter around ~95mm.

Installation

The fan duct pictured, and that I reviewed, was for 120mm and 92mm fan holes, as the internal diameter will fit either of those holes. A version for 80mm fans is also offered. The outer width from the edges of the lips is exactly 120mm, providing a nice space for the fan duct to lean flush against the outside of the hole. As you can probably tell, the fan duct must be cut to the correct size, as measured by you. With the ridges on the duct, cutting a straight line all around was quite easy. After measuring, I took out my dremel, and began the cutting.

Done cutting!

The plastic duct was quite easy to cut, as it is similar to the plastic in those black project boxes at radioshack that one may use for a fanbus. The dremel cut-off wheels went through it like a hot knife through butter. Easy job, taking less than 5 minutes.

Before...

... and After!

Here we see the before and after shots... I was formerly using one of those plastic food containers that you'd find at a bulk food store. Safe to say, the fan duct looked more cool and professional than the former. If you want, you can use two self-threaded screws installed horizontally and across from each other to hold the fan duct in place. Or if you are lazy like myself, a dab of crazy glue or tape on the inside of the lip will do ;)

Conclusion

There's not much more I can say. The duct is easy to cut, easy to install, and costing only $9.99 CDN, it's not expensive! Get yourself one if you have need. We'll now get onto the microbus, which is a very interesting product.
