Sunbeam UV CCFL Fan in Blue, Orange, and Green

Introduction

Whazzup everybody, well it's my first review for VH and I am pretty excited, so without further delay lets get started. Today Sunbeam was kind enough to send me some of their kick ass UV CCFL Fans which as you can see come in three varieties, UV with either Blue, Orange, or Green reactive fans. I received the Orange and Blue fans for review, both came with the rear mounted switch, switches come in three different variaties, front, rear, and sound activated. These fans take two completely different products (Cold Cathodes and Fans) and combines them into a single super high quality product. Lemme tell ya, the first time I fired the Fan up and started up the UV light I almost passed out because it was just an amazing sight, even the most high quality pics don't do it justice. But enough babbling lets get on to the good stuff!!!

Installation

Installation is pretty simple and Sunbeam gives some instructions on the back of the box, even the n00b to CCFL wiring should be able to figure this one out, but I will go through them for ya just cause I like you guys :p

  1. Shut off your computer and unplug it and open the box containing the UV CCFL fan.
  2. Mount the fan into the desired part of the case (**NOTE** This product will not fit into an antec fan mount, the pic below is just for show it wasnt in all the way)
  3. Mount the PCI bay switch into an open bay.
  4. Connect the CCFL power connector from the fan (the white one) into the inverter.
  5. Connect both the Molex connectors from the switch and fan into an available Molex connector.
  6. Plug computer back in and turn it on.
  7. Flick the switch in the rear of the computer on.
  8. ENJOY :)

News from SunbeamTech

I just finished writing my review and Sunbeam sent me some information about some new products and added features to existing products. So without further delay lets get on with it shall we. Sunbeam also makes a line of regular CCFL fans in Red, Green, and Blue. Also as a WEB EXCLUSIVE I have pics of thier brand new Tri-Colored CCFL fan. Check the pics below.

CCFL Fans separate...Pretty Pimpy

OMG Tri-colored CCFL fan...Uber Pimpy

Also they have some updates to the existing CCFL fans. First, people wanted an extended cable going from the CCFL to the inverter and BAM!!! Sunbeam gives back to the community by creating a 30cm cable, then not to be outdone they now have three versions of thier switch to control the CCFL fans.

Front Switch

Ohhh, sound activated switch

Conclusion

I just got one word to say about these fans (OMFG sweet) yea, I know it's more than one word but these things kick ass, these pics in all their glory don't do any justice to the actual quality of this product. If you want to know more check them out on Sunbeams site. I highly recommend these fans to anybody who wants a quality UV CCFL inside their case. I would like to thank Sunbeam for sending me these two awesome fans. They have always had innovative products at awesome prices and excellent quality, three things that just cant be beat :-). I also got bored and was messing around so I mounted the UV CCFL onto a Quad Blue LED fan, check the pics below.

During my travels around cyberspace I found a great place that sells these kick ass fans, it's none other than Directron.com. So go check it out HERE and don't forget to tell them that GrAssHoppA from VH sent ya.
