So-Trick Transparent Blue Fan

Introduction

Ok, ermm......they're cool blue fans! *the end*.....LOL. No, but seriously, this will be a short and sweet introduction to these cool looking, and nice performing, transparent blue fans from So-Trick Computers. Their has been a surge of custom fan mods as of late and this is just another brick in the wall. Clear-bladed fans have been out for along time now with the "Enermax" fans, but this is the first time I've seen the fully transparent fan casing AND blades. Now they may have been out, but I haven't seen them, or I can't remember anyway...heh.

If you know anything about fan specs as far as CFM and dBA, you'll notice the specs on these fans are very respectable. They flow a decent amount of air, and they're also very quiet. Also if you've got an Antec Sx series case with those purple fan cages, these blue fans don't look too bad in there...heh. They blend right in nicely :o)

These fans are nice, and they perform well. The one thing you will notice about the fully transparent fans , if you get them, is that they're "softer" then the typical black plastic fan. I'm sure this is due to the "mixture" of the plastics used to create a transparent plastic. It's not too soft to cause a worry, just something not to get excited about when you recieve them.

I personally think the Antec SX series cases look pretty kewl decked out with a full matching set of these clear blue fans. Also, you could just add a fan like this as an accent piece for a cpu hsf that'll accept an 80mm fan. They also would look amazing if strategically located with a cathode behind them to really let that lite ignite the fan. Hopefully I'll be able to show you some of that kinda clear fan luvin very soon. But as you guys may know, I'm working on a couple big projects at the moment and really not able to setup that rig just yet, but i still wanted to get some pimpage for these fans up until then cuz they are nice fans and worth the dough for them I think. They help make that extra accent to a case mod IF used in the right situation. In the wrong case, these fans will prob look horrible......heh. But If Wolfie can get away with PURPLE fans in his RED Lite-On mod project, I guess anything is possible :o) * MY EYES%#@!$!@* :o) *Wolfie : Damn you Dice!*

Conclusion

Well, there just isn't a whole lot to say about a fan, but I will say this: These fans are kewl. They perform very well and they won't make you deaf as they're pretty darn quiet. You can't ask for much more in a fan, quiet and cool, about all their is.....next to price I guess eh? ;o) Speaking of price, these fans are retailing for only $6.95 each and are ONLY available in 80×80×25mm size at the moment. Also one last thing to note, and I wish I had a damn pic of it at the moment, but the wires leading off of each fan have both a 3-pin and 4-pin connetor on them. Yep, that means you can either connect these fans directly to your MB, or a 4-pin molex plug using the stock wire leads without a need for an additional adapter. It's a unique setup and will surely help out some of you out there. I would just hack the whole thing off anyway and connect the fan directly to a baybus, but that's just me :o)

I'd like to thank So-Trick computers for allowing me to give these Transparent blue fans a look-see. If you like what you see here, you can rush right over to so-trick and pick up some of these cool blue fans right here! If you like the look of them as I do, then it'll be money well spent. They are a good quality fan that's only slightly louder than the Panaflo's. Any fan under 30dBA is quiet in my book :o)
