Silverstone GD01MX HTPC enclosure

Introduction:

Following the success of the venerable Lascala series, a new era has started with the first Grandia series of HTPC case, the GD01. Updated with an advanced 52-in-1 card reader, enhanced low speed fans, and improved hard drive mounting bracket, the GD01 has been given the classic lines from the most popular Lascala HTPC cases of the past, making a truly appealing package. As with many SilverStone HTPC cases before, the GD01 also has a class-leading six hard drive capacity, as well as dual optical drive ready for Blu-ray and HD-DVD drives. The GD01 is available in either black or silver. For an even more enriched multimedia experience, an optional GD01MX model is available with Multilanguage LCD, software, and a remote control that is compatible with a MCE remote and keyboard. The MX model in black is what we have in the reviewing hot seat today.

The GD01MX arrived solely in the retail box and survived the trip well. The top of the box has pictures of each color of the GD01, along with the remote. Two of the side panels also show the same thing, while the remaining two side panels have the enclosure's specs and features. Inside the box we have the GD01 in black, along with the remote control and some case hardware.
