Packaging This case was shipped all the way from Sansun Industries in Taipei, Taiwan to little ole me. It was also shipped in the retail box, not packaged in a brown box. So everyone from Taiwan to the mailman that dropped it off knew what I was getting. The smirk on his face told it all. "Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah. . . Batman!" Outside Well, if you haven't caught on by now, the outside of this case is in the shape of batman. That's right... I said batman. The front bezel door has the batman face. This door sits on a set of plastic hinges. The plastic for the hinges is thick so it should hold up to normal wear and tear. The door locks into place with magnets hidden behind the plastic. The eyes also light up with some LED's. Toward the bottom of the bezel are the front intake vents, and behind the vents is a place for one 80mm fan. Behind the bat face you will see four 5.25" and two 3.5" drive bay slots. Not all of the optical drives will fit into the bays; some interference may occur with the door. (Read about that info in the installation section.) One thing you won't see on the front are the power and reset switches. Behold the power of the bat. On the left and right side panels toward the top there are raised areas in the shape of bat's wings, going from front to back. Also on the side panels are round air vents with chrome covers. The air vent on the left panel has one 80mm fan attached to the panel. A piece of duct points towards the CPU on the motherboard to aid in cooling. This piece of duct is adjustable; what I mean by that is it will either expand of contract depending on how close to the CPU you want it to get. The side panels are each held in place with a single thumbscrew. Also on each of the panels are batwing shaped notches for your fingers to aid in removing the panels. On the rear of the case... not too much going on back there. The rear is set up for two 80mm fans and seven PCI slots. One nice feature on the rear of the case in the lower right hand corner is the placement of the optional Serial Game and Printer port. Sansun punched these ports into the frame of the case. By doing this, it will free up some of your PCI slots. Now to the top. Yeah, I said top. It's not too often we get to talk about the top of a computer case. Unless you have forgotten already this is no ordinary computer case; this is the BAT case**. If you remember, I said something earlier about not seeing any power buttons on the front bezel. Well... that's because they are on top of the case just behind the bat ears**(add that to the group of words I thought I would never use in the same sentence.) The power and reset switch are surrounded by clear plastic, and behind that are the power and HDD LED's. Also on top of the case are the USB and Audio ports. They reside under a sliding door. Mentioned in the specs is a firewire port. The housing has the firewire stamped out but it's not wired for it. << Introduction | Installation & Conclusion >>
