Screenshots

It's been about 2 weeks since I've had the unit and the LCDC program and I can tell you honestly that I still have not get the hang of the program. Don't get me wrong, it's a great and powerful program and has endless possibilities. It just needs time to master! Heheh! Having said that, here's a few screenshots of the unit in action. Oh, ignore the last picture where it said 10°C case temperature. I dipped one of the sensors into my can of Coke to make sure I had the right sensor monitoring the right environment! LOL!

Conclusion

The LCD display has certainly come a long way from it's heyday where only the hardcore enthusiast would have one, to today, where anyone and their grandpas would have one in their PCs. Even the manufacturers have taken cue from this and added their own LCD display, albeit not as advanced as the one you see here from Matrix Orbital. And speaking of Matrix Orbital, they have been at the forefront of the development of the LCDs all these years and it's no wonder that it's the preferred one amongst the PC enthusiasts and geeks. Apart from just displaying temperatures and whatnot, they listened to the crowd and added the features most wanted, like the 3-Pin fan headers so we can connect and monitor our fans with it.

Temperature sensor headers were also included so we can keep tabs on our burning hot hardware. And users have 4 different colour screens and also 4 different bay inserts to choose from that effectively gives a total of 16 possible combinations available.

And let's not forget that a good LCD is nothing without a good software to run it and Matrix Orbital was dead on when they partnered with LCDC to power their LCD screens. LCDC evolved from one man's desire to display more than temperatures on his LCD to probably THE best LCD software for the PC. It's power and flexibility allows for unlimited customizations by the user and with a great support team and User Forums, users can get help easily and quickly and be rest assured that the software will only get better with time. The only real issue I have with this MX411 LCD is the bay insert taking up two precious 5.25" bays in your case. So plan ahead.

Bottomline, if you're looking at adding an LCD screen to your modded rig, you can't get any better than one from Matrix Orbital. Don't forget, with the MX4xx series, you're not only getting an LCD display but also a digital rheobus with the PWM GPO outputs and a temperature monitoring tool! A big shout goes out to Hank Baron over at Performance-PCs for going all out providing me with the review sample of the MX411 USB LCD and the accessories as well. Check out their LCD Section if you're interested in one! A setup like mine will set you back US$152.80 but you get THE best out there!

This has been Wolfman from the VH Channel...signing out! Have fun folks!
