Introduction:

   Logitech is one of the world leaders in PC consumer electronics including pointing devices, keyboards, speakers, webcams, headsets, and the list goes on and on. I think just about everyone out there is using, or has at one time used, one of Logitechs products. They're just THAT widespread.

   Today I have for you something I wasn't planning on reviewing, however I must. Allow me to explain. As you should all know by now, I've been running weekly giveaways here on VH for almost 2 months now.

   Well, I contacted one of our long time sponsors, Logitech, and asked if they'd be interested in contributing. They quickly obliged and sent me a 5-pack of there new mm28 Portable Speakers to give away. Yes, Logitech rocks.

   Well, I received the package from Logitech and I placed it in the "prize corner" in queue for upcoming giveaways. However as fate would have it, I had a road trip planned the following week and I knew I'd be bringing my laptop to a hotel room and I'd be there for about 5 days. Anyone with a laptop knows their sound output quality leaves a lot to be desired. So I thought for a second and realized I had something that could enhance my DVD movie listening on the laptop: A portable quality speaker!

   So, I decided to take one for the team and open one of the units up and give it a thorough inspection and see if it's road worthy for my trip. Needless to say, I was willing and the mm28 Portable Speakers was more than able.

   After reviewing how the product "can" operate, I stuck some batteries in it and she fired right up. I stuck a test DVD into the laptop and plugged the mm28 speaker into the headphone output jack. Whalla! The increased sound output was IMMEDIATELY noticeable and the quality was simply wow. Crystal clear sound. It was like going from an old cassette tape to a CD.

   So that's it. I just had to take this on the road trip with me and give it a good run for it's money over a weeks time and a few full length movies. Could the batteries last more than 5 minutes? Would the sound output thru a laptop's headphone jack and the mm28 Portable Speakers be enough to fill a hotel room and drown out the kids? Read on to find out!
