A Closer Look:

Laptop Desk (Version 2.0):

Version 2.0

Width

The Pivot Point

Rubber Grip Everywhere

Maximum Rise

Now we take a look at the better of the two in my opinion. The bigger "Version 2.0" laptop desk. You'll notice it's jet black versus the lighter gray of the UltraLite. No, I don't know why exactly, but I like the look of it better.

The instant I pulled this product from it's package, I noticed the same annoyance of the UltraLite: It flops in the wind and does not lock open at full extension. No way, No how. When you grab one end, you've got to heave the other end up and open to slap it on your legs (if you're already holding your laptop in the other hand).

I understand the portability factor with the fold ability, but some kind of latch for keeping it flat and open would be recommended for those NOT ripping it in and out of carry bags.

Now let's get to some things I like about it. For one, I really like the quality of the rubberized gripping material that's literally molded into the desk the same way the thinner Ultralite is. Not only is it on the top, it's everywhere. Left and right, top and bottom.

This unit was much more comfortable actually ON my lap. It was wide enough, slim enough, but also strong enough to feel secure.

Other than the fact that it always wants to fold up unless it's physically on your lap with the weight of a laptop on top on it, I like it. It fold very thin for very easy storage in any laptop carry bag (well in mine anyway).

MouzPad:

This particular unit although it did fasten securely, it never felt that secure. It's a strange paradox when something is literally BARELY attached, yet you push and pull at it and it won't come off. You kind of just look at it like "how the...?" LOL.

Additional Length

Underside

The MouzPad does add much needed mousing space for the heavy laptop + mouse user. I personally didn't like the way it felt when attached, however it did function as it should and never once came off. I just felt it could've attached more securely to become "one" with the unit. It's almost there, but missing something in my eyes.

I'm not sure how useful the holes are as they are suppose to be for pens and cables and such. You'll have to make that assumption for yourselves. The MouzPad will work with either version 1.0 or 2.0 of the Laptop Desk.
