 CaseAce GearGrip-Pro Review

Introduction
All LAN Partiers are faced with the same question, how to safely and effectively transport your computer from one place to another.  The GearGrop-Pro from CaseAce solves all these problems and more.  Plus it looks really cool :)  Before I get started, here are the specs copied directly from the CaseAce website.

  • Standard size fits cases up to 52" in circumference. (Most desktop, mini and mid-tower cases)
  • Large size fits cases up to 70" in circumference (full-tower cases)
  • Case must be at least 13" deep
  • Carrying capacity up to 70 lbs.
  • Color: Black

For my case, the Tornado 1000, I needed to get the large size.  Even though the standard will fit most mid-towers, mine was a tad too big.

Here's what the GearGrip-Pro looks like

There are actually two pouches in the GearBag

Included in the kit is the harness, as well as a few extras.  These extras include the GearBag and the CableGrips.  The GearBag has two pockets to hold your keyboard, mouse and a couple CDs. The GearBag is adjustable using hook and loop material.  The CableGrip uses hook and loop material to securely attach LAN cables, power cable, headphones and more. The CableGrip can also be moved up and down the straps.

Installation only takes seconds!

Installations a snap with the GearGrip-Pro.  First you place the computer in the middle of the long straps and bring the end over the computer.  Note: The GearGrip-Pro is reversible and can be mounted on either side of the case.  Then connect both buckles, making sure the straps are not twisted.  Design Note: The straps are folded under the buckle so the plastic buckle doesn't contact and potentially scratch the side of your case.  Then just tighten the straps until they are tight against the case.  Make sure they’re tight, or your case can fall out of the harness when you pick it up.

Conclusion
The GearGrip-Pro is definitely what most LAN Partiers are looking for.  There are two different versions, the full kit ($34.95) and the base kit ($28.95).  The only difference between the two is that the full kit comes with two cable grips, and the base only comes with one.  If you’re a LAN Party addict, then this product is right up your alley.  If on the other hand, your computer pretty much stays in the same place all the time, then you’ll probably want to pass on this one.  If you are interested then head on over to CaseAce and check it out.
