Inside The inside of this case has be slightly modified to accept the Alphacool setup. Like mentioned in the introduction, FrozenCPU will not be offering this case as a complete kit. So I will give some basic details about the interior. Tool-less slides are used for the optical drives and the hard disk drives. The HDD cage is not removable; just the rack that would house the floppy drives is the only removable cage. Two 80mm fans are also included: one just in front of the HDD cage and one at the rear of the case.
Water Cooling Components And now, on to the Alphacool watercooling components... the main reason why FrozenCPU sent out this unit. They will be carrying individual Alphacool components for purchase. In this section I'm going to discuss each of them separately, starting off with the waterblock: Alphacool NexXxoS XP CPU Water Block:
This waterblock has some very unique features built into it, beginning with parallel canals in PCF(c) construction type. The canals were drill in 90 degree angles, enormously increasing heat dissipation. Flow resistance was reduced by 30%. The copper surface was glass-beaded to increase the cooling surface. Hi-temp O-rings are also used. The mounting system is also improved. The provided clip snaps on to the stock bracket around the CPU. This means you don't have to remove an installed motherboard. The clip snaps in place, and a screw in the center of the clip is tightened onto the center of the waterblock. The waterblock is tapped with BSPT 1/4" thread, and all surfaces have been polished.
Alphacool AGB-Eheim 1000 Station 12V Pump:
A round Plexiglas container houses an Eheim Compact 1000 submergible pump, thus creating a pump station. The pump is 12volts so it can be run from the PSU. The bottom of the pump has rubber feet to help with vibration. The Eheim 1000 is rated to pump up to 1000 l/h. The lid on the Plexiglas container can be removed to gain access to the pump. The container also has some of its own features. For one, a large opening for the fill port that also serves as the inspection glass. The lid also has 4 holes drilled into it so the end user (that's you) can add LED's. Also included with this unit is a 12V DC/AC PCI Slot plate. With this plate, you have the option of using either an external power or the supplied molex.
Alphacool NexXxoS Xtreme II Dual 120mm Radiator:
The Alphacool NexXxoS Xtreme II uses parallel switched channels to keep the flow resistance to a minimum. The large surface area accommodates two 120mm fans and high end heat transformers. Keeping the water cool will not be a problem with this setup. Powder coated in black, this radiator will just about disappear visually if used in the top of a case.
Papst 4412 F/2 GLLL 120mm Fan:
This is the fan Alphacool uses for all their water-cooling needs. The Papst-Sintec fans use a special ceramic sliding support. This support keeps the noise to a minimum and extends the life of the fan. Each fan is balanced to help keep vibrations to a minimum. With those features, this fan is certainly very quiet, even with 2 running together. As a matter of fact, I can verify first hand that with two 120mm fans running at 12volts each, I absolutely cannot hear them from 4 ft. away. Sweet!
Alphacool Screw Connector Swivel Nut 11mm: These are used to help keep the connection from the
tubing to the tubing nozzle secured by creating a compression connection. Pretty
self-explanatory.
Ahhhhh... good ol`Tygon. The choice product of watercooling enthusiasts around the world. Alphacool also prefers this tubing over all others and thus recommends it.
