External SATA!

Ah, there it is, the Enermax Chakra BS. The first major note of importance to me when it comes to cases is weight. This case is very light, made up of SECC, mostly aluminum. I'm not sure why but Enermax seemed to go pretty generic with their box design. While some companies dress up the box to attract customers, Enermax has left the Chakra with a standard cardboard boxing with some black text and color/model guide at the bottom. However, at the end of the day the box does get thrown out, and most people purchasing cases do so online, therefore rarely getting a peek at the box before it gets to them, nor really thinking about it much when comparing or purchasing cases.

After removing the case from the box, my eyes were immediately drawn to the massive 250mm side fan. The fan takes up over 1/4 of the entire case size, and features a switch at the top of the exterior side which allows air to flow into or out of the case, the choice being yours. It can also be turned off if desired.

Enermax has chosen to put the front panel on top with this case, with the LED display located directly underneath. The panel features the world's first External SATA port, very cool for those external hard drives, two USB 2.0 ports, a microphone input and a headphone output. The first two drive bay doors have covers so you can push a button to open your drives, but unfortunately only those two have this particular feature. This feature comes in handy when your drives are differently colored, this way you don't have to see say for example white drives on a black case. The rest will have to remain face out.
