CDI VH Box - The DiceBox!

More details on the casa!

Now if you've got a keen eye, you may be thinking " There is no way those logos are hand airbrushed, they're too perfect!". Oh how wise we are, CDI uses a "stickering" technique to achieve the perfect logos, text, font, etc. It would be nearly impossible to hand airbrush the text and font for this case. If it was done by hand, I doubt it would look as good, and I'd still be waiting for the case because it would take FOREVER to do. I personally think the logos look f`n sweet and wouldn't want them any other way.

Black Chassis

Painted Enermax

Painted Fan Cages

I figured since we were going all the way with this project , let's go ahead and paint the chassis too! Then let's do the PSU too! And the fan cages!.....lolol.

Two Rear 80mm Panaflo L1A's

Wider shot

On It's Side

This Dicebox had two top 80mm Panaflo L1A exhaust fans mounted, and two rear 80mm Panaflo L1A exhaust fans. The side panel had two 92mm Panaflo H1A intakes directly over the motherboard to give the case the positive pressure I prefer.. The fan configuration was taken from Wolfie's Tivoli Project and was used due to it's slightly positive pressure layout and also cuz it looks good on this case :o). There was no front fans included in this package. I'm not really sure why, I guess I never discussed it with them....heh. No biggie, I gots me some fans :o) All the included fans, being that they were Panaflos, came "untailed" allowing them to be directly connected to fanbus, baybus, etc. However, you'll need to extend the fan wires to realistically reach anything...heh. One thing to note, I noticed the two side 92mm H1A's seemed to be pretty loud due to a "whine" they produced. It's a shame since they look soo good. But I guess if they were run on 7volts, it wouldn't be an issue.

The black painted interior chassis looked real good, but could've looked alittle better. I thought I'd like the painted chassis alittle more than I turned out to. I think it's cuz I'm so picky, and I know the chassis will get scratched up, and with silver under that black , it'll show up like crazy . Two solutions there, 1) don't paint the chassis or 2) buy a bottle of touchup and keep it handy =) Either would work just fine. I've said it before and I'll say it again......with paint comes good looks, but high maintenance.

Painted Enermax 330w

Psu and 2 hdd cages

Interior Shot

Here you get a closer look at the painted enermax 330w psu, along with the hdd cages. You'll also notice the inside of the hdd cages isn't painted. There is a reason for that. If you put too much paint inside there, the hdd's won't fit. So to aviod any issues, I asked for them to be "sprayed around" and left without paint inside. CDI did it perfectly as my hdd's slide right in.

Comparo

Drives Exposed

These Handles Rock!

You can see it looks quite a bit different from the stock Chieftec. I haven't painted my drives yet.... not sure what I'll do there, but with the front drive door..... it's not a big deal. Another great thing about this case :o). The top handles are identical to the tivoli handles. I had Wolfie send them to me from Singapore, so don't ask me where I got them... heh. I looked everywhere locally and these exact ones were nowhere to be found. These handles are like a pound a piece too....heh. But they be Uberl33t yo! :o)

Umax Thumbscrews

Anodized and pimpy

More Thumbscrew action

UmaxPC was kind enough to send me some of their kickass blue anodized thumbscrews for the Dicebox. No project is complete without a nice set of these. :o) Check out UmaxPC for lots of cool stuff. Everytime I visit their site, it gets bigger and bigger.....That's a good thing.
