Fan Inspection:

The 120mm b-Ice looks comparable to other chrome fans that have come around such as the Aerocool. Fans with "bling" (that means shiny, shiny) are out-doing the brighter colored fans and their LEDs whether UV or regular. This is a big plus for me when the bigger fan is an ambient blue rather than a spotlight, which is the case with the b-Ice.

If you're wondering about fan noise, the b-Ice is in fact, very quiet. It is comparable to the same noise level from an Antec3 12cm Quiet Case fan that comes with the Antec P-180. The specs put the b-Ice it about 24db and the Antec3 is 22db, respectively. As you can see the blue LEDs aren't over powering. You won't be getting a headache from the ambient blue glow.

The b-Cool WB is a clear light blue acrylic fan. The color scheme does well to hide it more when when the fan is active. This WB (white with blue letters) model I received, is a bit brighter than I was expecting. In too much light, the temperature display fades a bit. The lettering is much easier to see with the white-red or blue-red model fan. However, this one is legible and fits certain color scheme cases.

The b-Cool fan is very similar in noise the b-Ice, emitting 24db. This is a pleasant change from the almost 32 to 35db average range for an 80mm fan with any kind of lighting. It's still a cool fan looking fan. Anything from the norm is a good thing.

Test Results:

Hey, It's fans! They match the specs Bluegears has set. You've seen them in action and they're cool. The fans move air like we want, while remaining decently quiet and if its not helping make your case look better with the chrome appeal, it's doing something helpful by reporting an outside or inside temperature. What else can a fan do? Well, here are a couple test pictures.

Conclusion:

These are some cool fans. These are great for your acrylic windows, cases, or modified systems with chrome and temp reporting to boot. If you can cool a pc while looking cool, or even better, reporting your systems temperature, then why not. Hopefully, we will see more good ideas and useful products from Bluegears.

Big thanks to Bluegears for getting these fans to us at Virtual-Hideout and doing it so quickly too!
