Introduction:

I'm a fanatic of computer hardware. I like to modify and change things for no reason sometimes just to see if it can be improved. For example, a ThermalTake water cooling kit works fine with what you get in the kit, but does it work at its most possible maximum level? Is the heat sink and fan combo you just purchased from Coolermaster work at its best optimal level? Are the fans in the case placed best for performance? Too often the answers are: NO!

So, naturally, I figure out ways to improve the product performance if I feel it is lacking. The Thermaltake kit was placed outside the case with an extra radiator, the Coolermaster received a new 92mm fan with shroud, and the fans were replaced with quieter and more efficient fans to drop temps much lower.

We've seen endless fan models come and go too many times. Pretty soon you just get tired of seeing the same thing from a different name. Then a new one comes along that is actually unique. Bluegears has sent me a sample of their B-Cool Temperature Display Fan and B-Ice 120mm LED Chrome Fan with which to play with. Being the exploiter of computer hardware that I am, it was still a treat to get these fans so I could spruce up the system.

The Fans:

Thanks to Fedex Ground I received a healthy UPS box turned outside-in (because they don't use each other's packaging) that contained the two fans. A quick rip and I was looking at two attractive fans. Many things of what I could use these for past through my vacant cranial cavity. Where it would look best, would the b-Cool work here, or the b-Ice work there?
