Bluegears b-Envi Gaming/HTPC Enclosure

    At the start of this year, the BGears company announced the release of their version of the Small Form Factor Case: the b-Envi. The goal for BGears was to offer a feature-packed PC chassis to multimedia enthusiasts who are looking for lots of storage options, as well as a unit that looks good. The b-Envi meets that goal, and then some.

    The b-Envi is a stylish, portable, and incredibly compact aluminum cube case designed for micro ATX motherboards. It features double windows, a built-in 58-in-1 card reader that lets you read and write to just about all popular memory card media, and a 2.5” removable IDE hard drive enclosure that gives you a portable storage solution. Other features for convenience include a design that allows for easy accessibility, a removable motherboard tray, touch sensitive power/reset/lock buttons, and front I/O ports with a flip down door to prevent excessive dust build-up. The flat, elegant front look of the b-Envi is achieved by the touch sensitive buttons and the shiny, piano black surface. This attractive styling is meant to appeal to the home theater PC enthusiast, just as the compact, lightweight, and convenience features are aimed to please the gaming enthusiast.

    The b-Envi enclosure arrived in the retail package with plastic wrap covering it for some extra protection. The retail box is covered with plenty of images of the enclosure within, and has a plastic carrying handle incorporated into the top. On the one side panel of the retail box is all the specifications and features of the b-Envi enclosure. Opening up the box, we see that the enclosure is protected by some Styrofoam and plastic bag.
