Introduction Acrylic cases are nothing new. As a matter of fact, they're been around even before VH started out. Where case windows only let you see a certain portion of your valuable hardwares, acrylic cases are totally transparent so you can see everything inside. These cases also helps in educational and display purposes. There're not many companies out there making them and most, if not all of them are based in the States or Canada but if the recent Comdex is any indication, be sure to see more and more variations of the acrylic case from the Taiwanese folks! And one of them is BeanTech International. BeanTech is a relatively new company, formed only recently but have grown into one of the leading manufacturers of mobile racks in Taiwan. They also manufacture their own line of aluminium cases and recently launched their acrylic case line. And the BT84 is one of the prototypes that we're looking at today. The Package Having read numerous reviews of acrylic cases, I was rather surprised to see the case comes in a standard case box. Most of the acrylic cases comes flat-packed to reduce the tendency to damages or scratches, so I was rather worried about this at first. There's also a sticker on the side of the box with the words "Emerald Dream", although I wasn't quite sure what it meant in the first place. I just wanna get the case out of the box and make sure it wasn't damaged or scratched. You'll be glad to know that even though the case is shipped in a normal case box, BeanTech took the effort to ensure that it's properly protected. The case is enclosed in a U-shape cardboard box with foams at every corner to protect against bumps and knocks. A quick inspection shows no damages whatsoever to the case. A large plastic bag also provides another layer of protection and if that's not enough, the case itself is shrinked-wrap with another layer of plastic. Kudos to BeanTech for that.
