Introduction Cable management in PCs have come a long way since the day of the home-made rounded cables in the early 2000s. Since then, modders and overclockers alike have thought of various ways to keep the cable mess in their PCs to a minimum so as to get the best airflow as possible. Anything from electrical tape to split looms were used to keep those pesky cables in check. As usual, the big boys were watching closely and soon enough, round cables started to show up and slowly, everything and anything that has some form of cable got cleaned up, direct from the factory. The component that got the major upgrade was the power supply with it's tons of cables suddenly got wrapped up, courtesy of cable sleevings. Of course, that too has it's roots in the modders box. Now you can get your favourite PSU all sleeved up and ready to go. Now if you want to do it yourself, you can with the various sleeving kits available in the market today and one of the new ones are these from AC Ryan. Mike over at AC Ryan sent over the UVGreen PSU Sleeving Kit plus the UVGreen PlusPack 1 for us to check out so let's get to it! The MORF™ PSU Sleeving Kit The Kit The kit not only comes with 3 different sizes of sleevings called the FlexSleeve™, but also a pack of Connectx™ connectors for you to completely trick out your PSU with. Anybody who have attempted to sleeve their own PSU knows how hard it is to remove the connectors, especially the ATX Power connector from the PSU so AC Ryan also provides their very own brand of pin removers, the Toolx™. Here's a complete listing of the parts in the kit;
The PlusPack 1 This pack essentially adds another 6 right-angle molex connectors and also 2 x right angle Serial ATA connectors to the kit. You can use these connectors by adding them anywhere on your PSU power lines as they don't need any external pins as they have their connector pins built into them. But I reckon you'll need the right tools to make sure the connections are right or you won't have any power going to the connectors if they're not done right.
