Inside:

I'm going to start off by saying BUSY BUSY BUSY. Well, it looks busy because of how compact the case is. Everything you find in a full size case you will find in the Ultra MicroFly.

Once again, I will be starting at the front and working my to the back. There are two internal 5.25" bays and one 3.5" bay up front, as well as one 80mm intake fan. To the upper right is the location for two HDD's. The HDD's attach to a removable bracket. This feature makes the install a breeze. On the floor of the case is the location of the motherboard tray. This tray is held in place with the four screws on the back and some locking tabs on the floor of the case.

The back wall of the case houses the 400w power supply and one 120mm exhaust fan. For the internal wiring, you have the standard array of wires for the switches and audio connects, plus the USB and FireWire, but one nice added bonus is the included thermo coupler. Although it is labeled with a sticker that says CPU, it can be placed just about anywhere to get a temperature reading.

The next set of wires are from the optional 400W power supply. They consist of the 20/24 pin power connector, 4pin 12v power connector, 2 SATA connectors, 6 Molex connectors, 1 Floppy connector, and 1 6pin PCIe connector. Lastly are included two 12volt connections for some extra fans or the included case.

Just because it's a small case doesn't mean the install is any easier than a regular case. If anything, it would be more difficult because of the confined spaces. Some of these issues have been addressed with the Ultra MicroFly, such as the removable motherboard tray. Remove the 4 screws and slide out the tray, slap on the motherboard, and slide it back in.

Once the motherboard is installed, I would suggest that all the wires going to the motherboard get installed before installing anything else. By doing this, it will give you all the extra room you may need. Installation of the HDD's and optical drives are straight forward and do not require special attention.

Conclusion:

All around this is an awesome case. The only flaw I can find is the carrying handle. I probably wouldn't use the handle too often because I'd be too worried about it breaking off after everything was installed inside. The handle should have been constructed with a heavy plastic material. Also for you guys with the larger heat sinks, pull them off before you travel - you never want to risk any damage to the CPU. The LCD display with the blue LED background is a great attention getter.

Overall this is a great little case with lots of versatility, not to mention personality galore. This case has all of the same features as a full size behemoth and only takes up about a third of the space. I would like to thank Performance-PCs for sending out the Ultra MicroFly for review and you can pick up one of these on their site.
