Installation:

Well there really isn't much to install here. You place the notebook cooler on a flat surface, place the notebook on top, and plug in the USB cooler power adapter....that is all.

I used my new Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop for "testing".

See it under there?

There it is..

That's better...

Once powered up I noticed I had to keep checking if the fans were spinning! I've give it kudo's for being very quiet.

When I placed my hands on the left and right sides of the G3T cooler, I could feel some slight air movement. More then enough to exhaust the warm air and keep it from building up.

I've had many "hot lap" experiences using a laptop for hours on my lap. I'm not sure how this will help that situation since it seems much better suited for a table top setup, or at least a flat harder surface.

Another surprising thing, though not really good or bad, is the use of a green LED to indicate the unit is powered on, versus the blue LED's that seem to be dominating most electronics today. Again, this is just an observation and makes no difference to me...However the LED is VERY bright! Too bright in my opinion.

Conclusion:

Using the TTC-G3T Value Aluminum Notebook Cooler was a no-brainer experience. It really doesn't get much easier to "setup" and use a product than this. Simply sit it down, place the notebook on top, and plug in the cooler to an available USB port.

I'm a little concerned about the way the screws attach to the base. The base is aluminum and we all know aluminum is a softer metal. I'm not sure it's such a good idea to have steel screws have to force themselves in between two strips of aluminum.

Common sense will tell you that the aluminum will certainly get chewed up. You can see it does in fact chew it up in this pic. I would've liked to see maybe 1 or 2 screws and a slide lock installation.

I also think the dual 70mm fans could attach a different way to make them more easily interchangeable. Perhaps a clip mechanism of some sort.

The TTC-G3T is otherwise a quality unit and does it's job quietly and effectively. There is certainly room for improvement, but for a value notebook cooler, I think it's a decent choice.
