Titan Amanda TEC Cooler

Introduction:

In this review we will be going over a new CPU cooler from Titan named Amanda. This cooler is the largest I have reviewed to date, and the first with a peltier attached. The Amanda comes in two styles: one for AMD and one for Intel. Basically, it's a heat-pipe cooler with assistance from a peltier. When peltiers hit the computer world a few years ago, everyone had to have one. A bunch of bad stories came out about them and before you knew it, it seemed like peltiers fell off the face of the earth.

Well, Titan is bringing back the TEC (Thermo Electric Coolers) by combining the TEC with a heat-pipe cooler. Hopefully, this design will pull the heat away from the hot side of the TEC effectively before turning the whole TEC into a heater and frying the CPU. I will be using an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ 2.4Ghz AM2 Dual Core Processor, which should generate enough heat to thoroughly test the Titan Amanda.

About the Company:

TITAN COMPUTER CO., LTD. was established in Taiwan by a group of progressive and experienced engineers in their respective fields. Since our establishment with over 16 years of manufacturing experience with high quality cooling devices for various kinds of PCs, we have successfully gained worldwide recognition for our innovative designs.

TITAN is headquartered in Taiwan and has its own two factories, total approximate 20,000 square meters. Both are located in Guang Dong- China, China. There are around 1200 employees, which provide combined efforts a production capacity of output 1.2 million units per month. TITAN is also leading manufacturer of various thermal products such as: CPU Coolers, VGA Coolers, H.D.D coolers, System Blowers, D.C fans, Heatsinks in comprehensive solution of cooling systems in different applications of PC systems. We have just launched the newest design; the superior water cooling kit(case), annual sales US$57,000,000 combined water and air-cooling in the world; the performance is excellent to reduce heat problems and operates at minimal noise levels. To keep advance with the fast changing market; new models are launched every 1-2 months to meet your requirements.

Details:

  • TTC-NP02TZ(RB) for AMD K8 and AM2 up to FX-62(socket 754/939/940)
  • TTC-NP04TZ (RB) for Intel LGA 775 (socket 775)

Features

Newest cooling design by combining TEC (Thermo-Electric Cooler) and heatpipe solution
Smart cooling to maintain optimal temperatures for the CPU without condensation issues
International patents, including USA, Germany, China, etc.
Extremely low thermal resistance provides utmost cooling performance
  Super silent cooling operation
Safety alarm system in case of the unlikely situation of the cooler malfunction

Notice

Please note that the Amanda TEC cooler is especially designed for overclocking and high power consumption CPUs which produce a lot of heat, and it's able to cool the CPU temperature significantly. For some low power consumption CPUs, the temperature difference will not be so significant when using the Amanda TEC cooler.

Packaging:

Retail front

Right side

Left side

Carrying handle

The box is one of the largest packages I have seen for a CPU cooler yet. On the top of the box there is a carrying handle. It feels like you are carrying an old-school lunch box. The front of the box has an oval cut out for a window. This opening only gives you a simple look at the top the cooler, and is really just there to tease you. The right side of the box has all the specifications on the cooler, one set for AMD and one for Intel. The left side of the box lists all the features of the Amanda cooler, while the back has a drawing of the entire cooler and lists some of its features as well.
