Introduction: At the beginning of the year I reviewed the Tt LANBOX enclosure. This month I will be going over the Tt LANBOX Lite. The Tt LANBOX Lite is a fully modular system where all the components can be removed from the body of the enclosure for easier installation. There are front panel mesh and side panel openings for increased airflow, and front and rear fans help with the air flow to keep all the components cool. Also, let's not forget to mention that Piano finish that I love so much. So what makes this version "lite" compared to the previous version a few months ago? I guess we will find out all the details in this review. About Thermaltake: Thermaltake Technology Co., Ltd. started its core business based on our extensive knowledge of PC thermal management during the era where the area of performance CPU cooling was only exclusive for "overclockers" or PC enthusiasts. With the company's initial launch of Orb coolers, it created waves of shocks and appraisals throughout the gaming and overclocking communities. Thermaltake quickly became the name gamers turn to when they need high-end and reliable thermal solutions. Specifications:
Packaging:
The Tt Lanbox Lite arrived in the retail box which has a carrying handle at top - which the UPS guy loved. The front and rear have the same picture, while the side panel explains the features. The actual enclosure is protected by the hard style of foam and a cloth bag covers the Tt Lanbox Lite. Exterior:
Like always I start off with the bezel, which on the Tt Lanbox lite is plastic with a steel mesh on the lower half for the air intake. On the right side of the mesh are the power and reset switches, along with the power and HDD LED. The upper half of the bezel has two openings - both can be 5.25" drive bays, or the upper one can be used to house a Multimedia LCD display or a car head unit with a 7" LCD screen. On the upper left side is a single 3.5" bay that sits vertically. Swing around to the left side, and we find the front panel I/O connections which consist of Audio, two USB, and one IEEE port.
The Tt Lanbox Lite comes in two styles: one with side panel windows and one without. The version I have is without windows. Along both sides and the top, air vents are present for fresh air intake. This design brings in fresh air from all sides and exhausts it out the back.
The rear of the Lanbox Lite has the typical layout that is commonly found on mATX systems, with four expansion slots and dual 60mm exhaust fans with the option to add another 60mm fan. << Back to VH FrontPage | Installation & Conclusion >>
