Sytrin KuFormula SHF1 High Performance HDD Cooler

Introduction:

Listen! Heat damages computer components... Bottom Line. No IF's, AND's, or BUT's about it. Heat can and will damage them. As end users, we have tried all sorts of tricks to keep the computer cool, from the early days of creating a multi switch fan, bay buses that can control 20 fans, to water cooling setups that have the potential to leak and keep your system dead cold.

This is where Sytrin comes in to play with the KuFormula SHF1 Ultra HDD Cooler. Made up of a steel and aluminum top plate with heat spreaders, these HDD coolers come in several colors and each includes dual 40mm fans. For the noise conscientious people, the fans can be left disconnected and the SHF1 Ultra can be used as a passive style cooler.

Specifications:

Accessories

The Sytrin KuFormula SHF1 High Performance HDD Cooler comes in three colors: Black, Red, and Yellow. The coolers come packaged in a nice looking box, with a picture of the three different colored coolers on the front and a picture of a car in the background.

The rear of the box give the specifications and features of the SHF1 Ultra cooler, along with some different ways the SHF1 Ultra can be set up. I know, you are looking at the specs and wondering what the difference is between the SHF1 and SHF1 Ultra. Well, the only difference I can tell is the Ultra comes with a thermal pad and also weighs twice as much.

Rubber mounts

Now, let's go over the layout of the SHF1 Ultra. The main body of the HDD cooler is constructed from steel, while the removable top plate, made from aluminum, has fins to aid in the cooling process. The main body of the SHF1 Ultra houses the 3.5" hard drive. The hard drive is secured to the frame with four screws, each with a rubber grommet which should reduce vibration transfer to the frame of the cooler.
