Supermicro is a company specializing in servers, their
whole product line is dedicated to them. They make everything from 1U rackmount,
4U towers, to the specialized motherboards themselves. Everything from the small
home office servers, to massively powerful motherboards with the ability to have
4 Xeon processors with 6 cores each (24 total), and 192GB of ram (yes, that’s
all on
*one* motherboard).

And as much as I would love to try out a motherboard like
that, I couldn’t possibly have the infrastructure needed to really put a system
like that through its paces. Anyway, most small companies only need a very basic
server, maybe 10 concurrent users, or a website that gets a few hundred hits a
day, maybe even a few thousand if they do a lot of business online.
