Introduction: It's a multimedia world out there and everyone wants the next "cool" or "in" gadget. products like the Sony PSP and Apple iPOD have cemented their spot in the consumer world. In the last few years a ton of companies have been screaming to their designers for their very own next big hit. Super Talent has brought to the table a very interesting little gadget called the MEGA Screen MP3/FM/Recorder Player. It's a lightweight, portable media player with a 1.5" MEGA screen. Let's see how the Super Talent 2GB MEGA Screen fares... Specifications:
Packaging: The packaging was very compact in a small white shrink wrapped sleeved box. Once I removed the shrink wrapping, it took me about 5mins to get the inner box out. It was so tight I almost had to break out the tool box. Opening the inner package revealed the Super Talent 2GB MEGA Screen itself and it's specifications. Inside that small box was the included accessories. A Closer Look: The Super Talent 2GB MEGA Screen is incredibly compact at about 1 5/8" wide, just under 3.5" tall, and 3/8" thick. It's also extremely lightweight at just 1.3oz! Don't let the small size fool you thought, the Super Talent 2GB MEGA Screen feels very solid and well built. This unit is made of black plastic, not steel or aluminum, so it's solid feel is attributed to it's quality build and materials. In other words, it's not cheap plastic. The high quality "paw print" user dial is well positioned and looks good too. There is a small rubber flap to protect the USB connection on the side. The headphone jack is located on the bottom of the unit. There is also a mic and reset button on the side, near the USB port. That's about all there is to the exterior. Powering On: Powering on the Super Talent 2GB MEGA Screen for the first time was easy right out of the box since it came to me with almost a full charge (w00t). You can see above the 6 main screens that help you navigate thru the different options and settings available to you. It reminded me alot of my cell phone and it probably will you too. If you've ever navigated thru a cell phones directory, you'll catch right on with this.
