Introduction: Not too long ago, 128mb flash drives were the norm; now the norm is around 2GB or up. Well, today I'm going to be reviewing a 2GB flash drive from SuperTalent. Now keep in mind that size is not the only factor in a flash drive, but the speed in which data flows also plays a major factor. The Super Talent 2GB drive has a rated speed of 200x. 200x is extremely fast, but just for the sake of comparison, 400x is around the speed of USB2.0 Super Talent also offers other varieties of flash drives. About the Company: Corporate Overview
A Closer Look:
The DH Series comes packaged in a simple blister pack that is held closed by a friction fit. Be careful when pulling the halves apart so the flash drive doesn't go sailing across the room and into the fish tank. These particular drives come in two colors which are black and silver.
The body of the flash drive is made from aluminum, which will hold up to the abuse it will see in a pocket loaded with keys and coins. The cap covering the USB plug has a nice, tight friction fit and should stay on with no issues. The back end has an eyelet for a lanyard, but a lanyard isn't included. This eyelet is also serves as a data transfer LED. The LED is on this model is red.
What I haven't mentioned yet is the speed of this 2GB flash drive. On the package it's rated at 200x. The 200X version delivers breath-taking data transfer speeds in excess of 30MB per second. 200x is very impressive and should boast well in the test. Some other features include password protection and support for Windows Vista Ready Boost (optional.) << Back to VH FrontPage | Testing & Conclusion >>
