Introduction: Do you game and like to chat, but hate how some chat programs override the game? Or perhaps you use full screen applications, and forget to check for that important email because you were concentrating on that project. Well, the solution to those issues is here with the Pertelian X2040. This little device, about the size of a large pager and has a 4x20 character LCD screen, can be set up to display incoming emails, used with various chat programs, and so much more. I know this introduction sounds more like a commercial and not a review, but to a certain extent that's precisely what it is. Features:
Supported Media and Communication Software
Hardware - Pertelian X2040 V4 USB LCD
A Closer Look:
The retail box is detailed nicely with the Pertelian X2040 on the front, along with some animation characters on the front and back. The front of the box has a flip open panel with the product name in the middle, and some more animations with possible uses below the characters.
Ok, I know everyone is just dying to see what this little unit can do, so let's remove it from the box and check out everything that comes with it. Of course we have the Pertelian X2040 unit with a 6ft USB cable attached to it, a small desktop stand for the X2040, a chunk of Velcro to attach it to anything that is 6 ft away from a USB port, and lastly the software CD for the X2040. For installation, it's just a matter of plugging in the X2040 to a free USB port and installing the software from the CD. If you can't do that without issues, please unplug your computer and chuck it out the window. Plug-ins: So, how can such a small device like this do so much to make your life simpler? No single answer can fit that question, so instead I will try and break down each and every possibility of the Pertelian X2040. Here's a list of the plugins that can be found at the Pertelian website. System Specs:
With this, you can monitor over 84 different items in one computer. EIGHTY FOUR!!! Geeez... I didn't even know about 80% of those items mentioned. You thought scrolling CPU and RAM information was cool? Think again, pal. Since we have 84+ different things we can monitor I decided to post the pages with those items.
