Introduction:

OCZ 600 Watt ModXStream-Pro Power Supply

It's been an interesting year watching the battle for power supply supremacy slowly come to an end. High wattage is no longer the focus at all. But, out performing and designing the other guy seems to finally be the priority. It's not too hard to make an over powered PSU and under rate it to sell to users who really don't need it. It'll last for years since it'll never see it's maximum limit.

However, it's a bit more difficult to design a lower wattage PSU that operates true to its power rating that won't fail you. These PSUs tend to be a bit more expensive as well. Just how expensive seems to depend on features like wattage and connectivity features like whether it's modular or not. And in case you haven't noticed as of late, these are some pretty efficient units. The amperage ratings, efficiency, and ratings have have all improved for the most part.

Everyone knows that OCZ is a company that doesn't like to accept an average rating or score. While OCZ is best known for their memory modules, power supplies is one of their many products that have evolved to keep up with demands for best performance. They've managed to keep their engineering heads out of the sky and produce power supplies that haven't topped 1000 watts which are more efficient.

One such unit is the OCZ 600 Watt ModXstream-Pro Power Supply. Yes, we know it's not some is the new "OCZ 1500 Watt SuperStream-Pro". But, remember, the better designed the PSU, the less over the top wattage needed to power your hungry system. Check it out.
