Introduction:
The
enthusiasts are a fickle people; for some of them, cost is no object; for
others the lowest cost is the law. Granted, between these two lie the other
degrees of extreme - performance versus silence. Coming to us here in North
America just a few scant years ago, Noctua made promises of good cooling with
absolute silence. Utilizing specially designed fans, well built heatsink, and
a number of other techniques, they really do make some of the quietest
products on the market today - at a cost. In this vein, we have the NH-U12P
on the bench today. It's a premium priced cooler with plenty of premium
priced features, but the question is - with just four heat pipes and two low
speed fans to its name - can it perform?
