Introduction: Today I have another product from Mushkin. This is my second memory kit from them recently. If you read my last review on the EM2-6400, you'll know that it was not an overclockers kit. Mushkin looked to change things up by sending me their newest HP2-6400 DDR2-800mhz enhanced latency memory kit. The "EM2" and "HP2" are basically references for Value and High Performance. The EM2 being the value kit, and this new HP2 kit being the higher performer. Let's see if Mushkin did more than change the color of the heatspreaders to differentiate this kit from the rest. About the Company: Founded in 1994, Mushkin is best known for
producing “Enhanced” memory modules. Located at the base of the Rocky Mountains
in Denver, Colorado Mushkin provides performance enhanced computer products to
users worldwide. Exceptional quality, enhanced performance and unparalleled
customer support are what make Mushkin products the best in the industry. Specifications:
A Closer Look: As you can see, Mushkin packages the HP2-6400 like the rest of it's memory. They use clear packaging that's factory sealed with a spot on each side. It takes some effort not to destroy the packaging when opening it. The HP2-6400 memory kit itself is a very good looking kit. The blue aluminum heatspreaders will certainly appeal to the masses. It's just too bad the huge white stickers couldn't be a little smaller though. The heatspreaders used are what Mushkin calls the "FrostByte Heatsink". It's really just a fancy name, but they are functional also as they help dissipate heat generated from the memory modules underneath them.
