Introduction:

Coming from Europe, Alphacool is no stranger to Virtual-Hideout as we have had their water cooling blocks on our test bench not too long ago and did pretty well with their machine channeled copper construction. Alphacool has had some recent water block revisions that look really great and appear to provide much improved performance. In fact, reported benchmarks and temperatures has been validated by many others.

This particular kit in the round up is the Alphacool Complete Retail Unit. These kits are still carried among many web based retailers and can be found for a good price of around $200. Thanks to our friends at Sharka Computers we get to see how Alphacool's Complete Water Cooling Kit performs.

Description:

The Alphacool NexXxoS complete water cooling kit is the flagship base system for practically any PC setup. This kit includes the NexXxoS XP Light copper CPU water block which features parallel channels in PCF(c) construction type. This provides an accelerator built into the plexglass top that forces the water to spray over the center cross section of the copper base producing tremendous cooling results on the hottest of CPUs. In addition, this kit comes with the SNB Northbridge and SP GPU nickel plated water blocks with all the mounting brackets necessary for just about any standard configuration. The radiator is an Alphacool (Black Ice) Xtreme 120mm copper radiator with dual pass cooling. The Eheim compact 600 pump is submersed into a plexiglass reservoir sealed to prevent any water leakage. The pump is also configured with a 12V power connector that plugs into any PCI slot. To top it off, there is a 500ml bottle of Tec-Protect water additive which is a pre-mixed ready-to-use coolant designed to protect against corrosion and galvanic reactions from metals.

	The NexXxoS XP Light comes with an assortment of mounting brackets: 1) AMD Athlon 64 Socket 754/939, Opterion Socket 940 and AM2 2) Intel LGA775 Socket T 3) AMD XP+ Socket A

Northbridge:

The stainless-steel mounting brackets can be used for any Intel motherboard with 8xx chipset and 2- or 4- metal eyelet mounting.

GPU:

GPU stainless-steel mounts for standard graphics cards including Geforce 4TI, 4xxx and Geforce FX5200-5600.	2-hole cross mounting for ATI 9xxx series and Geforce 2 & 3.	4-hole cross mounting for Nvidia Geforce 6800, 7800 & 7900 series and ATI X1800 & 1900 series.

Fittings:
