Asetek WaterChill Complete Kit:
This another exemplary kit designed for extreme cooling by
Asetek. The water
blocks are the largest of any and require greater care when mounting to
processors or chipsets. Pre-attach the tubing before mounting and keep the water
blocks stable and all should be fine. Current kits have been revised somewhat
and will no doubt continue changing to make for easier mounting and assembly.
The quality of the components is great. The tubing is one of the best around and
is easy to work with. The reservoir and pump unit is strong and very quiet. The
integrated unit is small enough to fit in any mid-sized or larger case and
reports temperatures accurately within the Asetek Control Panel software.
Vantec Stingray:
Why
Vantec hasn't pushed this kit is a mystery. The only thing lacking in the
kit is an upgraded dual 12cm radiator which would really improve the kits
performance. Replacing the single with a dual 12cm radiator will drop
temperatures by 4 or more degrees Celsius. The water blocks are unique in that
the internals of the blocks are very well machined and the outside of the blocks
have a very nice aluminum powdered finish.
This a very well designed first revision water cooling kit for Vantec who has
manufactured so many other cooling solutions for any and every heat producing
computer component. The Reservoir Pump Unit is surprisingly strong and very
organized thanks to the inline Eheim Pump.
The installation process is very easy and the end result is a clean presentable
kit.
Alphacool
Complete Set:
Alphacool
Kits come in single and dual
12cm radiator configurations. The base kit comes with a single 12cm radiator.
Fortunately, Virtual-Hideout had a dual 12cm radiator on hand to thoroughly test
the kit. The temperatures on the Graphs easily drop by 4 or more degrees Celsius
with the additional heat dissipation.
The XP Light CPU block is the easiest of the kit to install. The VGA and
Chipset blocks in the kit are very heavy and require a little extra care when
mounting. Mounting is very secure and is also pretty easy as the blocks are well
balanced by the hardware. New blocks have been released recently, so expect some
changes to kits and sets.
Zalman Reserator 2:
Zalman's
Reserator
2 System is much easier to shelf, present,
and use. It is one of, if not the easiest kit to install thanks to the new GWB3
VGA block revision with its swivel barbs and more secure mounting hardware. The
CPU WB4 Gold is a newly designed polycarbonate block with yet another copper
base mirror finish. Quality is very evident in the kits design and installation.
The Reserator 2 has been scaled down and is still capable of keeping
temperatures lower than its predecessor. Priming the unit requires a little
patience, but works very well none the less. Thanks to its two toned, silver on
black housing, it will compliment any system much more easily while remaining a
center piece of discussion.
Koolance
INX3-1050 1kW Kit:
This is Koolance's first fully configurable water cooling kit very capable of
dissipating 1kW of heat generated by any computer system. The
INX3-1050 1kW Kit can be mounted
anywhere you decide, but is originally intended to easily mount on the back of
any sizeable computer case. The water blocks all present a most beautiful mirror
finish on their contact surface and are capable of extreme cooling
configurations.
The RP-1000 Reservoir Pump Unit can be integrated into any system. The built in
pump is one of the strongest, most reliable pumps on the market. The Unit
is capable of reporting temperatures, fan control, and pump control. Thanks to
attention to detail, this is one of the most polished and capable water cooling
solutions on the market. Installation is well documented and easy to follow.
