Introduction:
Today I have for review the new Eco-Vue case from Marware for the Apple iPad. It's a leather folio style case designed for maximum protection. The exploding success of the Apple iPad is driving accessory manufacturers to hurry up and get their products on the market. Many of them are rushed and poorly designed. The folio style case is one of the most popular designs on the market with not two being the exact same. It seems they are as unique as fingerprints. Will the Marware Eco-Vue rise above the endless masses of subpar products? Read on to find out. Initial Inspection: I didn't appear to receive the full retail packaging from Marware, but nevertheless I have to say that as soon as I removed this product from the box I could tell I was in for a good time. The first impressions were very positive and immediately made me think of a high end lawyers portfolio. Yes, it was that nice and expensive feeling. The quality feel of the supple leather exterior feels very durable and just the right thickness. The new Eco-Leather still smells like leather, but doesn't stink and it's better for the environment. It's keen to be green nowadays.
Further Inspection:
The outside of the Eco-Vue case felt so good I was a little worried to open it up because I didn't want to be let down. I was worried for nothing. Opening up this product just reinforced Marware's commitment to building not just a good iPad case, but a great one. I found myself in awe of the interiors beauty and soft suede feel. I started lifting the stand piece and sticking my fingers under the hand strap, all the while thinking just how cool this product is. The quality really is astounding. When you've reviewed as many products as I have over the years, it's fun to actually get surprised and excited once in a while. It doesn't happen nearly enough as I'd like these days. However this product just looks and feels that good. Next test: How will the iPad fit? Will it be secure? Let's find out! Installation:
Installation went even better than I had hoped. The iPad slid into the Eco-Vue case with just the right amount of tension to relay a sense of security. Then even better, the top strap that Marware designed into the case just folds right over and then under the iPad provides plenty of resistance (suede on suede grip) to keep your iPad safe and secure without fear of it slipping out. Going through the various positions and possible usages of this product just further impressed me. The high quality feel all the way. Propping up the built-in stand works great, is sturdy and retracts magnetically back into the case leaving it practically invisible. Perfect. The case is plenty sturdy enough to stand it up to read it vertically or what have you. The front and back and nice and thick and should last for years and years. All the ports, speakers and buttons are perfectly accessible. On the back of the case, you'll notice a small elastic cloth band running up the outside edge. It only took a second to realize two uses for this design feature. One being hold it open and the other being to hold the case shut. Brilliant! A magnificently simply design feature that will surely make life easier (and safer) for all. And once again it feels securely fastened to the case and no fear of it falling off.
Conclusion: This may be the easiest conclusion I've written in a long time. Simply put, the Marware Eco-Vue case for iPad is brilliant. Dare I say it's a perfect product? Indeed I do dare. I can not find a single fault with it. Marware has thought of everything from including a massive screen protector to pop up typing stand to a strap to not only hold it, but also keep it shut. And on top of that they built it out of top quality materials. I honestly can not think of a single iPad case I would rather have. Perhaps the best part is it's only selling for $44.99 right now directly from the Marware.com website or available for pre-order from Amazon.com for only $42.77 at the time of this review. Dare I say it's worth twice that price? Indeed I dare to say it. I won't mention any names but I've seen worse products selling for much more. For under $45 this case is an absolute steal for what you get in return. Add this case to your iPad and you'll have the nicest, most functional and most protected iPad on the block and look like a million bucks doing it. I'd like to thank Marware for sending this product in for review. They have stolen my heart with this one and it's the easiest Editors Choice Award I've ever given.
