Installation:

Installing RAM into a computer is not difficult at all; just some simple common sense is needed. First find out which slots are needed for Dual Channel on the motherboard, and then make sure the tab in the RAM slot lines up with the notch in the RAM. Push firmly and bingo, bango, all done. Now it's time for testing. After the RAM is installed, it's always a good idea to reset the BIOS and start off fresh. With the Kingston RAM installed and the BIOS reset, the BIOS auto detected the RAM at 5-5-5-15, which are the 667MHz specs of the RAM. I then manually set the voltage to 1.95v and 4-4-4-12-2T which is the 800MHz specs.

Sisoft Sandra:

Overclocking:

After doing some research, I found out that this batch of RAM is pretty much locked at 4-4-4-12 1.95v. Regardless of what voltage I set the system at, it would not boot when CL TRP TRCD were set to 3 in any combination. At 4-4-4-12 I was only able to get up to DDR2 828MHz. Yeah, I know: not too impressive for overclocking, but this RAM isn't intended for that. Its high capacity and low latency is what it's made for. Now, at 5-5-5-15 it only opened up slightly to 988MHz. Just keep in mind that 4GB kits are not meant to be high overclockers. Regardless, Gamers and Photoshop-ers alike will love this kit.

Conclusion:

DDR2 isn't dead yet... as proved by the Kingston KHX6400D2LLK2/4G RAM kit, which still has the power to perform with its low latency and stable operation. Not everyone needs the top-of-the-line overclocking RAM. Instead, what is desired is something stable and reliable, and the Kingston KHX6400D2LLK2/4G is that kit. Looking over the benchmark results, you will notice slight overclocking capabilities. What I was able to squeeze out of it ran stable, although I wouldn't really bother. Kingston has offered excellent products over the years, and the top-notch Kingston KHX6400D2LLK2/4G is no exception. I would like to thank Kingston for sending this kit out for VH to review.
