Introduction:
Final Words: Wonderful product. I'm very impressed with HighSpeed PC's responsiveness to consumer requests and suggestions, as well as the quality of workmanship in the Tech Station. More manufactures need to follow this example and pursue improving their products in line with consumer feedback! You can see below that there is ample room on the top platform even with optical devices and a power supply for extra storage or workspace. The Tech Station is exceptionally versatile and the most efficient configuration for testing available today. I also think the unit still has room for improvement as few products are ever end-all-be-all solutions. Although the unit is not necessarily a "small" fixture onto any average workbench or table, it could still be enlarged. A larger unit would allow for oversized heat sinks such as various Thermaltake and Thermalright models (there is not adequate airflow for such oversized units). Increased room between decks would also allow adequate room for water cooling configurations; hoses to a CPU water block would likely have to be somewhat kinked or adapted with angle connectors to fit in the existing model. Furthermore, I think the room behind the motherboard where the hard drives mount could be used more effectively if the unit was bigger. I often would like to be able to adapt a system with more than two hard drives, and although this is possible by simply hanging them out of the Tech Station it would be nice to have the extra space. A vertical application for HDD mounting would be a more efficient use of space, although cable routing might become cumbersome. A removable top plate would also be a nice feature for some applications. Temperature monitoring and heat sink testing, for example, would be facilitated by easy top access, but that might be a unrealistic feature considering the topside components. The price increased to ~$140USD from ~$80USD with the improved design. This price point puts this product out of the grasp for many consumers but I feel the product is still a valuable investment for any serious tech, system builder, or dedicated geek. I think a lower price point would generate significantly more sales. Outside of this, I see no flaws with this product whatsoever - only marginal room for improvement. I'd like to award HighSpeed PC the "Editors Choice" award and also thank them for providing me the opportunity to review their product and I look forward to many exciting products from them in the future.
