Introduction:

FSP Group Power Mod 700 Watt Power Supply

FSP Group are a known name among IT pros working with rack mount hardware and servers. Their professional based power supplies can be found powering many a 2U rack mount chassis. One of their latest industrial PSU lines to hit the market is in their 80 Plus series. This has often left me wondering whether or not server grade power supplies have always been more efficient than desktop models.

The desktop market is where FSP isn't quite so widely known. Much of my own experience has been limited to only one PSU back from the Socket A era. The rest of the time, it was other models from other makers mainly due to price. The local PC store always seemed to be listing them at higher prices which had me also wondering who they were and are they worth the price.

FSP Group is the 6th largest power supply vendor in the world. Since the company was established in 1993, our outstanding management team has drawn together our R&D expertise, our sizeable production capacity, outstanding product quality to consistently excel in this competitive marketplace.

Today, I have one of FSP's newest power supplies aimed at reaching out to us non-private sector folks. The FSP Power Mod 700 Watt Power Supply is one of their first high wattage PSUs to offer extra PCI-Express support, a more serious 80Plus standard, and quad 12 Volt rails as well. There's a big market for 700 to 900 watt power supplies strong enough to save power hungry users from having to buy larger, more expensive models. Let's check it out thoroughly.
