The results of the Enermax Galaxy 1000w were impressive. Utilizing the newest technology in efficient power consumption, it's hard to ignore the stats compared to some of the other popular power supplies in the market especially when you consider it's size and rating. It might produce ton of power, but it doesn't waste it and that's a great thing.

If you're like me and running at least one computer 24hrs a day/7days a week, you will seriously want to get a highly efficient power supply as soon as possible. Not only do they save you money in the long run, they also run more efficiently which means they run cleaner. That should equate to a nice long life also.

Not that I expected my simple little rig to break this Galaxy 1000w, but the voltages were rock solid. Even after hours of running my Core 2 Duo at 100% (both cores loaded fully with Prime95), the power supply did not get hot in the least. The huge 135mm fan and 80mm installed on the Galaxy certainly keep it cool. I'd also like to add that considering the size of this Galaxy 1000w, it was very quiet. Only the slightest hum could be heard and I'm using it in an open air Tech station rig. I'm sure it would be totally inaudible enclosed in a chassis.

Conclusion:

I see a ton of power supplies around the VH Labs and I must say that this Enermax has impressed me. It's demanding size and massive power output is something to behold. The modular cabling system is done extremely well allowing not only the hardwired security for your most critical system components, but also the modular convenience to add an absolute TON of extra drives. The shiny black casing with gold fan grills exudes a quality look. It was also very quiet utilizing a 3-pin fan controller that I had plugged into my motherboard.

The ratings and specs for this unit is truly amazing. It will power anything on the market today and the foreseeable future. If you're running a Quad-SLI rig, or thinking of building a Quad-SLI rig, this is the perfect power supply to future-proof yourself as much as humanly possible.

The last Enermax power supply I reviewed, the Liberty 620w, won my admiration and also an Editors Choice award. This Galaxy 1000w will be no different. It has the power, looks, and convenience to give your high power computer the juice and stability it needs to operate at it's best.
