Introduction:
It's always nice to see a familiar name when it comes to packages unexpectedly landing on your doorstep; especially if that name comes from a company that's given you nothing but a positive experience in the past. In this way, I was near overjoyed to see another batch of enclosures from Eagletech - who some of you may remember as the manufacturers of the N-Series Pro External HDD Enclosure that was reviewed here a while back. Considering it's simple interface, good design, appreciable cooling, and adequate sealing method, it should come as no surprise that they've come back for more.
On the bench today are three separate enclosures - one from the W series with E-SATA, one from the M series that can safely install a drive in seconds, and one from the T-Series, which caters to both IDE and SATA users - a great idea, in theory. Each enclosure has it's own target market, it's own set of strengths, weaknesses, and applications. Just the sort of things to pick at in a roundup!
In order to avoid having a 15 page review, the dissection of the products is going to be done in a bit of an abstract way. Since each enclosure comes from the same company who values consistency over flare, we'll simply stick together for the common features, branch into three paths for what makes each enclosure special, then reform for the performance and conclusion.
