ECS GeForce6100SM-M

Introduction:

ECS has launched a new microATX motherboard named the GeForce6100SM-M. This marks the appearance of an integrated graphics motherboard for AMD Athlon 64 AM2 processors. The board is built around the nVidia nForce 405 chipset. ECS Geforce6100SM-M motherboard features the NVIDIA Geforce6100/nForce405 integrated chipset, a design that includes a combined Northbridge-Southbridge and GPU housed on a single chip, a first of its kind, and dual-channel DDR2 memory up to DDR2 800.

It features DirectX 9 and Shader Model 3.0, and a PCI-Express X16 slot (X8 mode.) With this slot, gamers can elect to add the video card of choice. It also features one PCI-Express X1 slot and two PCI slots. The south bridge offers two Serial ATA (SATA) II high-speed 3.0Gb/s ports with RAID 0 and 1 capability, two Ultra DMA133/100/66 devices, built-in 10/100 Ethernet, and eight USB 2.0 interfaces (4 onboard, 4 rear panel.) There is also an integrated high-definition audio, and this motherboard is also Vista Ready.

Packaging:

The package for the new ECS GeForce6100SM-M is different than other ones I have seen previously. This one doesn't come with a sleeve covering the box. Another thing different is the package contents. This motherboard only comes with a single SATA cable and Molex to SATA adapter.
