Inside:

The Centurion 530 features very long wires for the front bezel which I find highly desirable. The case also has two miniature "shelves" to assist with power supply support and stability.

The case can hold up to three 3.5" drives in the lower drive cage - which is removable although not easily. Two screws must be removed from the left side of the case and two from the bottom of the case to remove the lower drive cage. The drive rails are screwless and function on a pressure locking retention system.

Included in the case is the obligatory manual with plenty of screws to go around. I don't think that the fan location and drive cage design are the best to facilitate airflow. The fan is extremely close to the side of the drive cage which is 50% perforated at best which makes for a lot of wind resistance and air noise.

The front panel connectors are nothing out of the ordinary. USB 2.0, firewire, and audio ports are all standard orientations. The front 120mm fan has a 3pin connector but Cooler Master throws in a 3pin to molex adapter.

The only issue I found with the case is one of the decorative top caps came off during handling. The cap is a little silver punch out which is glued to the top of the plastic bezel - I am sure it could be reattached with a little super glue but I never like to see pieces "falling" off a case for any reason.

Comments:

All things considered I would give the Cooler Master Centurion 530 an excellent rating. The case is extremely functional and clean with plenty of room for marginally advanced system configurations but still small enough for even the most basic unit.

The case has no useless features or major design flaws although the front vertical rods are likely to be an acquired taste for most. I was extremely happy to discover front and rear 120mm fan options which is not an option in my opinion.

Many thanks go to Cooler Master for their continued support of Virtual-Hideout and the computer enthusiast community at large.
