ASUS P5N-E SLI Motherboard

Introduction:

The current top flagship motherboards for both Intel and Nvidia based chipsets have been doing really well, some more than others. Much of the problem still hangs on availability and production issues. One chipset that can be found in larger quantities and have proven themselves as very capable platforms are the 650-SLI motherboards. While the hardcore enthusiasts find the board to be lacking in overclocking, they have had some decent results by adding another 600MHz or more to most any processor installed. It seems that most of them reach a limit at around the 333MHz CPU Bus frequency. Another great feature has been its rock solid stability whether in single or dual graphics configurations.

This is also the quieter of the NVidia based motherboards in that many makers have opted to use a more silent cooling approach by adding very large chipset heat sinks to cut down noise rather than fans. The ECS NF650SLI-T is just one of the boards around that carry a chipset cooler reminiscent of the old school DDR systems. Since cooling is quite important on these already extremely demanding chipsets, it isn't uncommon to find the larger fanless heat sinks. Features, on the other hand, are plentiful enough for anyone looking to build a fast gaming system. Power users relying on massive amounts of storage arrays and configurations may want something aimed at the professional. But, then again, most users won't need more than eight hard drives and there is always external USB or SATA solutions if you do really need more.

ASUS has had various P5N models spanning different chipset revisions as improvements have been implemented. Since ASUS is a well known international name, there P5N-E SLI Motherboard has one purpose: Provide a solid platform with balanced features and stability while keeping the affordable. Given the chipset's track record, it's quite possible that the motherboard may prove to be another viable option the next time you place an order or walk in the store. Let's take a look at the ASUS P5N-E SLI Motherboard that ASUS was very kind in sending.
