Closer Look: The P190 is designed for maximum function, larger components, and silent
operations which can't be achieved using the thinnest aluminum construction.
Thicker aluminum enclosures tend to cost a prettier penny and aren't really
all that light. As you read this, someone is also probably learning how easy
it is to damage a really thin enclosure. The P190 compensates by
implementing almost every plausible, positive feature you could want in an
enclosure. The chassis is extra sturdy, utilizes sound dampening materials,
and offers a much more substantial case cooling than any previous Antec
enclosure. If three fans weren't enough to cool your system in the P180,
then a new total of five case fans should more than suffice. It comes with a Gun Metal Black color and a familiar top notch finish carried over from the P182. The enclosure is deeper and wider as well which accounts for its assigned Advanced Super Tower moniker. What makes the case so super? It comes with an extended internal chassis providing much needed space for BTX form factor motherboards which means dual CPU users will be now be happy that they can move about the inside freely. Also, you get the wire management chassis improvements that allow you to run wires up the back of the motherboard tray. Serious BTX users will appreciate that extra feature especially if the system has extra storage drives and cabling.
What of the two installed power supplies? I
can sum it up in two words, Neo-Link. There is one 650 watt and one 550 watt
power supply that are preinstalled in the P190 Super Advanced Mid Tower. Both of
the power supplies are connected by Antec's Neo-Link which combines the
total wattage to 1200 watts! That's plenty of power for your main components
and just about anything else you may want connected to your system. The
power supplies are Antec's Neo Power which may not be the most attractive
series, but they are definitely some of the best tried and true power
supplies that typically meet or exceed their specifications. You can bet
that Antec wouldn't dare put this kind of bragging power inside their P190
unless it were absolutely capable of performing. Getting back to the system cooling fans, the P190 comes with an enormous
3-speed 200mm panel fan that has the potential to move an enormous
amount of air. The slower spinning blades equate in to extremely quiet fan and is perfect for keeping larger ATX or BTX
systems cool which tend
to generate more than the typical amount of heat. Set to high, your internal
chassis becomes an extremely well cooled machine in a wind storm. This size
of fan is slowly becoming more and more ideal in enclosures designed for
cooler, quiet function. We've seen similar sized fans from Tagan, except
their design places it in the very front of the case sort of like a turbo
prop. You still get the front and rear 120mm quieter
tri-cool case fans that are still pretty quiet compared to earlier
generation case fans. Besides the major 200mm panel fan change, Antec also
increased the size of the top fan to 140mm and then added another! So, the
top of the P190 now has two 140mm tri-cool fans that are even quieter and do
a perfect job expelling warm air. If you want to change the speed of these
fans, there are three fans switches now integrated in to the top rear of the P190
for the top and rear fans. You won't need to open your case to change the fan
speeds, nor buy a Rhoebus to control them. << Intro & Specs | More Details >>
