BIOS:
The BIOS used on the ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus is the Phoenix-Award-BIOS with Extreme Tweaker. The Extreme Tweaker adjustments allow for a plethora of voltage adjustment, and in the FSB and Memory configuration you can unlink the CPU from the RAM and tweak those adjustments separately for finer tuning. Also, a program is included on the software driver CD that allows you to change the BIOS splash screen with a picture of your choice. Software:
ASUS' Ai Booster is a Windows-based program that allows you to overclock through windows without having to reboot the computer. That is, of course, unless you make a ton of major adjustments, then it just freezes and you end up rebooting anyway. Ai Booster also monitors the voltages and temperatures from your desktop.
ASUS PC Probe II is a monitoring program used to display the temperatures of the CPU and motherboard, along with all the system voltages and fan speeds. The included CD has some additional software on it, like Adobe Acrobat, AWDflash, IVIDVD Copy, LOGO for the BIOS splash screen, Photo Impact, and a few others are included for your enjoyment. Installation:
The install was done on my HSPC Top Deck Tech Station which allows me total access to the motherboard during the testing phase. Test Setup:
CPU-Z:
CPU-Z v1.40 was used to read the current system configuration in both stock and overclocked configurations. In these results, the system was benched with the onboard graphic processor, with the system in both stock and overclocked modes.
