NVIDIA Chipset Comparison:
* Available on CPUs supporting 1333MHz FSB Packaging:
The retail box is covered with a sleeve that is common to ASUS, and this sleeve also has a flap that opens. The main cover doesn't have too much in the way of information about the motherboard other than support for Vista, Intel Quad core, and a FSB of 1333. The back side of the cover has the specifications and a picture of the P5N32-E SLI Plus motherboard. Opening up the lid and here we get to see most of the features of the motherboard. The cover slides off to reveal the main box, which has the ASUS AI logo on the front and back. Contents:
P5N32-E SLI Plus Layout Overview: Here's a couple
of
pictures I grabbed from
newegg.com since, quite honestly, it shows off the layout better than I
could:
These two photos really show the heatpipe design on the ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus. The copper heatpipes snake across the motherboard to two sets of copper fins that are around the CPU socket. Now, these fins are low-profile and the CPU cooler shouldn't interfere with them. On the bottom picture you may notice that something is missing. What is missing, you say? How about those audio ports? Oh, Yeah! A separate audio card is supplied and is used on a designated expansion slot on the motherboard. But one other thing is missing, and that is the presence of a external SATA port.
