 PCMods.Com Window Appliques Installation Guide

I was recently sent a package from PcMods. It contained a VH Window Applique, and to say the least I was suprised. I thought they would be stupid. However I was mistaken. These are quite nice and look damn good. If you have no clue in your right mind what one of them those window applique thingies are. They are a type of sticker that goes on the inside of your plexi window to give it a laser etched effect. These cost at least 20% of what laser etching does if you can find someone to do it. And these are removable :-). They look frosted metallic. I'm not quite sure how to explain it. But I will include pictures later on.

The package they send you contains the following:

The instructions where fairly straight-forward. If you would like to read them. Here is an HTML Copy if you are interested.

Here you can see my beautiful plexi window. Which I scratched one day earlier when it slid off the top of my computer, and was abused by the edge of my useless scanner... Let me note I hate you Mr. Scanner.

Here, I am cleaning off my window with soap and water as the instructed. You can also see the Window Applique with its backing on, my instructions, and the squeegee.

This is what the Window Applique looks like without its backing applied. You can see it appears metallic in color. Word of caution, peel the translucent backing very carefully. My Window Applique was wanting to come up with the backing but I taught it whos boss and peeled carefully.

This is a picture of the Window Applique applied to the inside of my plexiglass window. I followed all instructions and squeegeeed it, and had no use to poke holes in my airbubbles. On account of there being no air bubbles :-D

Here is what it looked like right after I applied the Window Applique. This took me a total of 10 minutes and 5 of those where finding a water mister

Voila!! The final product. I was very pleased with the Window Appliques. However, I believe it would had looked better if I had placed it in front of a better lit spot.

And now for the day of reckoning...

Pros
  • Available in custom designs (starts at same pricing as pre-design at 5) and this would be great for clans, groups and companys :-)
  • At least 20% the cost than laser etching
  • Gives a different effect and feeling than other mods
Cons
  • None!

I must say, this is definately a sweet job by PCMods. Well worth the loot in my own opinion. You can head over to PcMods.Com and check out the other designs that Window Appliques are available in. These designs include a radiation symbol, biohazard symbol, high voltage sign and a nice atom molecule.
