Next, cut about 10 inches of the yellow/black wires to connect it to the MOLEX connector and the whole bus unit. Connect one end of the wires to a plastic wire connector and the other end to the MOLEX one. To remove the pin from the Molex, you will need to bend two small clips. You can use a small flat head screwdriver to bend it and pull the pin out. Remove the original wire from the pin and connect or solder if you like, the yellow/black wires in.
For the bus unit, cut small lengths
of wires, about 3 to 3.5 inch long, and wind them around the clip
connectors. For this guide, I used the YELLOW wire to connect
to the RED wire clip to indicate 12V. The Black wire
are connected to the Black clips to indicate Ground.
Apply some solder paste onto the wires to be soldered to allow the solder lead to bond smoothly to the wires and connectors. Continue to do the same with the rest of the wires and connectors. Combine all the yellow cables in the box together and place it in the plastic wire connectors and screw them on tight. Make sure no wires are loose as this will result in voltage loss to the fans attached to that terminal. Do the same with the black wires.
Finally, connect the 10 inch yellow/black wire connected to the male MOLEX Connector and connect it to the bus unit, via the plastic connector. Close up the hobby box and you're DONE!!! Now you're ready to connect all those monster fans to the Fanbus. Note that the one here is a 12V Fanbus unit. If you want to connect 5V fans (if you have any), you will need to make one for 5V, or you could make a simple switch to toggle between two voltages. You can find more information at Cliff's Website. Also, if your fan comes with a MOLEX connector, you will need to rip it of and use the bare wires to connect to the spring wire clips. Hope you enjoy that little piece of guide, any Q's, give me a holler. HAPPY TWEAKING!!!!!
