Day 2: (Entire day at Performance-Pcs)

When I woke up I decided I would go check out the free breakfast that the hotel provided. I guess I was the only who knew it existed because I was the only one there and had all this food to myself. So I sat down with my bowl of cereal, bagel, and orange juice watching the local news. Maybe it was just me but the topics all seemed like they were about child molestation in some form or fashion. We rarely see this stuff in New York and I found it rather odd. After learning the "10 Signs Of My Child Being Molested At School" I went back to my room. I just sat and watched more TV until Hank called to let me know he was coming. When he got there I grabbed my batteries and camera. It was now time to see his business.

This is what you see right when you walk in. Hank's office it right there then you are in the main area where all the sleeving, custom cables and other accessories are stored. As you can see by all the labeled bins that this is a very organized work place. Everything has its spot and is labeled so things are very easy to find.

One thing I noticed is that Hank is picky about his work, he takes great pride in the stuff he does. He said he would go nuts if his work space was a mess and I agree a neat work space is always a good thing.

The reason I called it "My" sleeving station is because this is where I worked. Yeah I learned how to sleeve and once I started I could not stop! I was just finding stuff to sleeve just so I could. I was a natural, I had it down in 10 minutes, but don't think it is easy. When you have the right tools its is very easy but sometimes homemade setups are not the best. If you have all the tools go for it, but otherwise I would have them do it for you. Later in the article I will talk about this more.

Packing Materials

As you work your way towards the back of the main room it goes right by the photo booth. This is a set of while walls and lighting to get the best possible looking pictures to display on the site. Right after the photo booth there is the shipping room, where all the orders are weighed and packed. They print their own UPS labels - and UPS packages are picked up at the end of the day. Hank usually runs the USPS packages to the post office himself. I was not too surprised when I found everything highly organized, making the entire process very efficient.

When you exit the shipping room and take a quick left where you enter the doorway to another room. This room primarily is used for storage of power supplies, cables, and wires. The PSU's are stacked neatly on shelves for easy access. You can notice in the pictures above that they have that 850 watt SLI PSU by PC Power and Cooling!! This is a top of the line PSU and is a little bit longer than a normal PSU complete with a pretty steep price.

Another One

Once you leave the PSU room there is another doorway that leads into the room where all the cases are stored. But before I talk about those, right when you walk in to the left is the kitchen area for employees, also there is a bathroom further back from the kitchen. Now to the cases, there is a decent amount here.

I tooks pictures of both sides of the isles then took some top shots to show the room from different angles. Lian-Li is the most abundant case in here because well they just sell the best and they leave as quickly as they come. I think these cases are the best that can money can buy, their quality is unmatched.
